The journal entitled Vestnik Akademii nauk Respubliki Bashkortostan (“The Herald of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan) is a peer-reviewed scientific periodical of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan).

The journal was founded by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan in 1995 and has been published since 1996.

The journal is registered in the Federal Service for Supervision of Communication, Information Technology and Mass Media (registration certificate: PI No. FS 77–51921 dated November 29, 2012; ISSNL: 1728-5283, 2004; subscription index in the Integrated Catalogue “Russian Post”: 04168). The journal is included into the Higher Attestation Commission(VAK)Listof Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journals dated October 9, 2015 (coming into force from December 1, 2015), VINITI Abstract Journal and Database RAS (since 2005), and the international knowledgebase on periodical and serial publications Ulrich's Periodicals Directory. Information about the publications is presented in the Russian Science Citation Index.

The journal is published in Ufa every quarter (four times a year) in Russian, with the tables of contents and abstracts given in English. The number of print sheets: 10. Circulation: 300 copies.

The objective of the journal is to ensure rapid publication of open research scientific and experimental results obtained by Russian and foreign scientists, and also major scientific results of the theses submitted for PhD and doctoral degrees.

The Advisory Board and the Editorial Board consist of leading Russian and foreign scientists with high citation rates.

The journal has the following sections (according to the Nomenclature of Scientific Specialties approved by the Order of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science No. 59 of February 25, 2009): General Biology, Historical Sciences and Archeology, and Earth Sciences that correspond to the subjects included into the List of the Higher Attestation Commission for such printed periodicals. Also, there can be such sections as Chemistry, Humanities, Scientific Events, In the Book World, and Official Section.
